The notebook cover is a reproduction of Bouquet of Flowers by French Symbolist artist Odilon Redon, created around 1900–1905. The original piece is a pastel on paper measuring approximately 31 5/8 x 25 1/4 inches. It features a vibrant, imaginative arrangement of flowers in a blue ceramic vase that was gifted to the artist by ceramicist Marie Botkin. The original artwork is currently part of the collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
